Of science and literature - Jean-Louis Coatrieux
Conversations with Jean Cloarec
Jean-Louis Coatrieux opens up in this conversation with his friend Jean Cloarec as he has never done before. An accomplished polymath, he talks about his literary and scientific encounters, his job as a researcher and especially about those to whom he owes everything, we he said. A true speech, on his roots, on his passions, his commitments, his revolts, on these passages between science and literature. On a world certainly always shared between light and darkness but where everyone can follow a thousand paths of simple humanity .
Jean-Louis Coatrieux has received numerous international awards (IEEE Career Achievement Award, IEEE Millennium Award, etc.) for his research work in medical imaging. As a writer, he is the author of essays, short stories and novels. His latest works include Parle-moi, s'il te plaît , published by La Part Commune (2022), Tu seras une femme, ma fille and Natcho, l'enfant du barrio , published by Riveneuve (2022 and 2023), Le Rêve d'Alejo Carpentier in two volumes, Coabana and Orinoco , published by Apogée (2019 and 2021).
After studying science in Grenoble, Jean Cloarec taught mathematics and computer science and then became the director of a training center. A member of the management committee of the magazine Hopala! La Bretagne au monde from 2009 to 2018, he has just published Le Corps de garde, Sahel et autres poèmes ( 2022) .
