"This is where we set off, my wife and our two young children, in the early 1970s. Auroville had been inaugurated on February 28, 1968, and a few women and men of good will had answered the call of this extraordinary adventure. Coming from all over the world to this red land in southern India, they had begun to save this desert and to try to lay the first foundations of a utopian society where " relationships between human beings, which are usually almost exclusively based on competition and struggle, would be replaced by relationships of emulation to do good, of collaboration and of real fraternity. " We have sought with them to make this dream a reality. More than thirty years have passed, the desert has become forests, the imagined city is beginning to emerge from the ground, the human beings who inhabit it live together as best they can.
