A Hidden Master. Study of Montale's Leopardism - Fabrice de Poli
Academic work
The author of this work has tackled two sacred 'monsters' of Italian poetry: Giacomo Leopardi (1796-1837) in primis , considered one of the first poets of Italian modernity, and Eugenio Montale (1898-1981), whose work crosses and marks the entire Novecento . Based on the notion of "influence", the author brings together two rich critical threads of Italian poetry, one that concerns the Leopardian heritage among 20th century poets , and one that seeks to determine the weight of poetic tradition in Montale's work.
